Milwaukee Bucks Forward Thanassis Antetokounmpo was sent off late in Thursday night’s loss to the Boston Celtics after hitting his head against Blake Griffin which led to a heated melee between the two sides with just minutes left in the game.
Antetokounmpo, an older brother to Two-time League Player of the Year Giannis Antetokounmpo, Flagrant was fouled 2 and ejected from the game with just under 1:30 left in the game while Griffin got Flagrant 1.
The incident occurred after Antetokounmpo was severely fouled by Griffin while under the net.
Cleary, unhappy with the play—and likely the score at the time the Celtics were leading 136-92—Antetokounmpo got in Griffin’s face and bunted him.
Players on the field from both teams rushed to the scene, but the officials and coaching staff quickly separated the two, and Antetokounmpo was eventually ejected from the match.
Griffin, who is seen laughing when Jaylen Brown shows him his protective face mask, does not appear to be puzzled by the incident.
celtics, who sit just behind the Bucks in the Eastern Conference 140-99 Milwaukee. Jason Tatum scored 40 points, while the Browns added 30 points.
“It doesn’t matter,” Brown said of the possibility of winning the top seed. “We want to finish the season strong and see what happens.”
The Celtics own the tiebreaker if both teams finish with the same record.
