ABC’s “The View”. Co-host Joy Behar lashed out at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, admitting she wants Donald Trump to be the Republican presidential nominee so the Democrats can win in 2024.

While DeSantis saw popularity after his midterm re-election, Behar insisted the governor was a “dweeb” and that Trump needed to be the Democrat’s nominee to win.
“DeSantis is what they call a dweeb. And Trump is the one who needs to get the nomination, because then the Democrats win. He’s a loser twice already. Hey! Loser!” Behar joked, putting an L on her forehead, while Alyssa Farrah asked Griffin, “But isn’t it a risk?”

Other panelists agreed that DeSantis does not have the stamina to take on Trump in a potential primary.
“I’ve been saying at this table for months now, I think Ron DeSantis is the most overtly wordy politician in America. I think this notion that he’s going to save the Republican Party from Trump, and get the nomination, is overblown. in Florida.”
She continued, “He got re-elected. He did a good job. This is a guy I want to see two things from, I want to see him with a neutral interviewer like George Stephanopoulos and actually answer tough questions. I’ve never seen him do a keynote interview at the national level. And secondly Don’t beat Trump by not going after Trump. I want to see him throw a punch at Trump.”
“He will be missed,” Behar joked.
Co-host Sarah Haines added, “He also lacks charisma. And it’s not that good or bad, we saw some charm and he also had other skills, but President Obama got on stage and the whole audience was mesmerized. He had the ‘it’ factor.” Donald Trump, Like it or not, he had a factor.”
“Ron DeSantis, there’s nothing there. I don’t think you can win the media coverage, with the kind of gravitas he doesn’t have,” she said.
