ABC’s “The View”. Co-host Joy Behar lashed out at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, admitting she wants Donald Trump to be the Republican presidential nominee so the Democrats can win in 2024.

During a show segment on Wednesday, the women discussed the possibility of DeSantis securing the presidential nomination in 2024 after being floated as a potential candidate. While DeSantis saw popularity after his midterm re-election, Behar insisted the governor was a “dweeb” and that Trump needed to be the Democrat’s nominee to win.

“DeSantis is what they call a dweeb. And Trump is the one who needs to get the nomination, because then the Democrats win. He’s a loser twice already. Hey! Loser!” Behar joked, putting an L on her forehead, while Alyssa Farrah asked Griffin, “But isn’t it a risk?”

Other panelists agreed that DeSantis does not have the stamina to take on Trump in a potential primary.

She continued, “He got re-elected. He did a good job. This is a guy I want to see two things from, I want to see him with a neutral interviewer like George Stephanopoulos and actually answer tough questions. I’ve never seen him do a keynote interview at the national level. And secondly Don’t beat Trump by not going after Trump. I want to see him throw a punch at Trump.”

“He will be missed,” Behar joked.
