LeBron James The Los Angeles Lakers returned to earth on Sunday, coming off the bench to score 19 points in the team’s 118-108 loss to the Chicago Bulls.
James’ situation was in flux before the match against bulls. He had been sidelined for a month due to a foot injury he sustained in February. He told reporters he was considering surgery after he was diagnosed with a major tendon injury.
He said his doctors told him he was “healing faster than anyone they’ve ever seen from an injury.” He added that he had obtained a third opinion from an unnamed foot doctor.
“Because I went to LeBron James of Feet,” he said when asked why he didn’t have surgery. “He told me not to.”
James refused to name the doctor who cleared him.
He added that if he decided to have surgery in the off-season, the media wouldn’t know “because I don’t talk to you guys in the off-season.”
Angels He brought James back after eight games remaining in the season as they hope to avoid missing out for a second straight season. The Lakers were 8-5 in his absence.
“They went 8-5 and they obviously have a chance – hell with play, we could actually be in the top eight,” said James. “It definitely changed the way I think about coming back and trying to be a part of this. Well, I don’t even want to say (it) changed my way of thinking.
“It just boosted what I was trying to do in terms of my drills, my treats and everything. They played great basketball. I was so happy, from being in the shoes to being out of the shoes, you guys saw me on the sidelines, so happy with what the guys are doing” .
James has only come off the bench once in his 20-year career. This came in December 2007 when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers team.
