Over the radio, Yates gives Hash instructions on how to land the plane without that front wheel, all while asking her questions and encouraging her.
“I’m doing about 67 knots now,” she said on the radio.

“Wow, hold it, you look good, you’re doing a great kid,” Yates said over the radio.
“Those few minutes were intense – my most important landing to date was that and probably will be my most important landing ever,” Hash recalled.

“That’s it boy, good job, your nose will come down, you’re alright, you’re alright, talk to me boy, proud of you,” he said over the radio.
“Just having someone to have a conversation with, and not be formal with Aviation Language – it was just soothing. It was perfect and just what I needed at that moment,” Hash told FOX 2 after the stressful descent.
With the help of her new guardian angel, Hash is safe the plane landed on the runway and lived to tell the tale of landing an airplane without the front wheel.
Hash told FOX 2 that she feels an outpouring of emotion whenever she listens back to the radio recording with Yates.

“When I go back and listen to it, I cry,” Hash said. “It was an emotional day, to say the least.”
When asked if she still wanted to continue flying, Hash didn’t hesitate to share, “I’m supposed to do this.”
“When I was in the air, I told myself I’m done, that’s it. I’m not doing this again. But once I got on the ground and I realized everything was fine, I realized, You’re supposed to do this.”
