NBC News raised eyebrows on Tuesday with a report suggesting Tennessee’s transgender community is under threat. After the mass shooting At a private Christian school in Nashville.

The report quoted members of the local LGBTQ community. Transgender drag performer Denise Sadler told NBC News that she hired “four armed guards” to secure the gay bar that will host an event next weekend, but that after the shooting, she “plans to hire eight.”

“You don’t know if [the shooter’s gender identity] It’s going to drive a community of people who already hated us to come and try to shoot us to prove their point,” Sadler said.

One transgender activist predicted, “More blood will be spilled, not in school.”

Aislin Bailey, acting president of Tri-Cities Transgender, condemned the police for guessing about gender identity without checking first, telling NBC News, “I knew that as soon as anyone mentioned that, it immediately became the focus instead of what should be the focus, and that Gun violence in this country… We already feared for our lives. Now, it’s even worse.”

“Considering that a converted terrorist deliberately targeted a Christian elementary school and killed six innocent people, it appears that Christians would be more of a cause for concern,” radio host Dana Loesch said in a tweet.

National Review writer Charles C. W. Cook noted, “The tweet would be identical if the killer had been the victim. Whatever the motive, the response is exactly the same. Totally the trick.”
