Russia warns Armenia that there will be “serious consequences” if the latter goes ahead with its plans to become a member of the International Criminal Court.

The Russian state information agency quoted a source in Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs He said Armenia’s plans for the International Criminal Court were “unacceptable”.

She said Russia had warned the Armenian government that there would be “extremely negative consequences” between their countries if it became a state party to the Rome Statute – a step that must be ratified by the Armenian parliament after approval by the Constitutional Court. .

“Moscow considers Yerevan’s official plans to join the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to be completely unacceptable in view of the recent null and illegal arrest warrants issued by the ICC against the Russian leadership,” a Russian Foreign Ministry source said.
