UConn Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Hurley seems to be a superstitious man.
Huskies back The last four Saturday night is the men’s basketball team’s first since they won their fourth and final national title in 2014, and according to Hurley’s wife, he intends to stick to his routine.
This includes wearing the same clothes, right down to his underwear.
“He would always finish the game he had against opponents to see what he was wearing,” his wife, Andrea Hurley, told the New York Post. “If they win that match, he will wear the same outfit.”
According to his wife, Hurley has been wearing the same outfit as his fire-breathing dragons since the tournament began earlier this month — and yes, he’s been washing them.
“They’re like Underoos for adults,” she told the outlet.
If UConn to win Fifth seed Miami On Saturday night, fans can expect Hurley to don the same navy blue suit he’s been wearing since the Huskies’ inaugural win over Iona on March 17.
According to the paper, the superstitious Harley has dumped his assistants Kimani Young and Luke Murray who apparently make daily trips to the dry cleaners.
UConn is the highest ranked team in the United States Men’s NCAA Tournament It is looking to claim its fifth national title in nearly a decade. This marked the last time the Huskies advanced to the Final Four as they had a record of 8-1.
“The climb to get to this point has been real, and it’s been more challenging than I thought,” Hurley said after Saturday’s win over Gonzaga.
